Beginner / Intermediate Packraft  on the Mitchell River

Come and experience the wilderness of the Mitchell River National Park. This iconic park is only around 3 hrs from Melbourne, and offers the first-timer a great experience without too much effort.  Our instructors love this trip, and are excited about showing you their favourite places on the river.

This trip is suited to the adventourous and those with some paddling experience. We start the day with a short walk down the hill to Den of Nargun and the Mitchell River. You will need to carry all your gear for the day in a hiking pack. Once we arrive at the river we will pack and inflate our packrafts and get on the river.

The first hour will be spent learning and reviewing our strokes and techniques. This is a must, as the first rapid can be a bit of a wake-up-call. We are straight in to the whitewater at that point, and there is no turning back. A 10km paddle, with lots of rapids, adreneline and fun along the way.

Lunch will be at the Old Weir, and then onwards to the finish through some of the best rapids in that section. Our final point will be the glenaladale bridge.

We will supply all the on-water gear. You will be required to bring a hiking pack to get all the gear down to the river - but dont worry as there are some packs availble use if you dont have one. You will need lunch and other essentials, such as water and sunscreen, But we will supply a clothing list and what-to-wear list on booking. Wet suits are available to hire.

Make a weekend of it, and stay at the Echo Bend Camping Park. Take in the Den of Nargun indigenous site and simply relax/
